Ok, so why do we like Learn and Master Guitar so much? Well for starters, what you get in this course is the equivalent of 2 full years of guitar lessons, but at 1/10th the cost! It's also amazingly effective with people of all ages and from all walks of life.

Railroad Media has teamed up with Nate Savage, a guitarist with 16+ years experience to create a brand-new DVD guitar lesson curriculum called the Beginner Guitar System. While in the end it is course for guitar novices, you’ll get to tackle material that even some intermediate guitarists may not be all that familiar with. The course moves along at a moderate pace, and spends a good amount of time teaching the essentials all guitarists need to know like common chords, bar and power chords, rhythm, and theory.

In my opinion guitarists that are just starting out don’t need to waste money on private instruction to learn the basics when there are great beginner courses out there like the Beginner Guitar System that can do a better job for less money.

For many years now, Jamorama has taken guitar newbies and given them a great start in becoming accomplished guitarists. The course is designed primarily for those new to guitar and tries to keep the learning process fun and engaging.

The software (Jamorama Maestro v2.03) is exceptionally easy to use. It comes with a download manager where you can download your lessons as you go through the course. All external material (video lessons, audio examples and Jam along tracks) are accessible right from within the software as well. This is big improvement over previous iterations of Jamorama’s guitar lessons where you had to constantly look up individual files on your computer. When a new version of Jamorama is produced, our only wish would be that they add more video components in the course. (Note: Lifetime updates are included free with your Jamorama membership)

Besides the Jamorama also comes with some nice bonuses like a free 30-day membership to SongPond.com (an online video site where you can learn popular songs), and several software guitar tools and learning games which add great value. One of the oldest major guitar learning sites on the internet, GuitarTricks.com has long enjoyed a large following. Started in the late 1990’s by Jon Broderick, the website boasts a database of more than 3,000 video guitar lessons with more being added all the time. The lessons are taught by a variety of teachers (45 in total) that experience in many different genres and styles of playing guitar.

Their website recently underwent a major overhaul which really improved site navigation, organized video content more effectively, and added more high quality lessons to their database. Many videos that weren’t up to site standards were removed and new mini-courses have been added to to give course outlines to guitarists who just aren’t sure where to start.

Guitar Tricks vs. Jamplay: Many of our readers want to know which online guitar video lesson website is “better”…Though we would maintain that Jamplay has the edge in regards to higher quality lessons and more video content, Guitar Tricks still wins out in the affordability category.
